Valley Regional Transit

Transforming Transportation

Valley Regional Transit (VRT) is the regional public transportation authority for Ada and Canyon counties in southwest Idaho. In summer of 2016 the Clearwater Building was constructed in the heart of Downtown Boise, Idaho, offering VRT a chance to develop Main Street Station, a central hub for local transit services. The new facility will make it easier and more convenient for employees to get to work and for everyone to use public transportation.

Public artist Stephanie Inman was selected by the City of Boise and Valley Regional Transit to conceptualize an overall art plan for the Main Street Station. This art plan would feature an entryway piece, mosaic mural and a comprehensive wayfinding system, incorporating themes of movement and transportation throughout the facility. In addition to creating an art plan for the station, Stephanie was also selected as an artist to produce artwork for Main Street Station. For her art pieces, Stephanie conceptualized “Keep Moving People” and “Rhythm of the Road”.

Having a long history of working together, Stephanie brought Trademark on board for design consultation, fabrication and public art installation services to produce these large scale pieces. Trademark has had the honor of collaborating with Stephanie on a number of projects over the years and we were thrilled to partner with her once again in producing artwork for the Main Street Station.
